Gerald R. Cassidy was an early 20th century artist, muralist and designer who lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico. A noted public artist, Cassidy created projects including the mural Dawn of the West and Parfet Park in Golden, Colorado, where he was an honorary member of the Golden Kiwanis Club. Cassidy died as a result of gas poisoning from working on a mural art project in the dome of the federal building at Santa Fe on February 12, 1934.
